Integrated Environmental Permit in action: Obligations and potential risks
On August 8, 2025, the Law “On Integrated Prevention and Control of Industrial Pollution” came into force, introducing a new procedure for obtaining an Integrated Environmental Permit (IEP).
Simply put, an Integrated Environmental Permit is a single permit that replaces several separate ones previously required for:
- emissions of pollutants into the air from stationary sources;
- special water use;
- waste treatment operations.
In this article, we explain how the IEP works, how to obtain it, and what risks the new mechanism may bring.
